These are a bit pricey, but they are pretty good to have for artwork. The material is a good heavy plastic, and I expect it will last longer than I will. Not flimsy plastic like some of these types of products are. Not that those are bad, but you get what you pay for. These tiles are made of a thick plastic which is sturdy. It's very unlikely that these would break by accident. In other words, they will probably last forever. I am not much of an artist, but got these just for the fun of having an interesting tool. I tested these with a regular 2B pencil and some colored pencils. These are super simple, just pieces of hard plastic with a texture on them. They do what they should, which is let you quickly fill in largish design areas of a drawing with a texture. They're fun to play with, and they do save time when the point of a drawing isn't to do every single pencil stroke by hand. I wasn't sure what to expect with this product and I was happy with what I received. Using these reminds me a lot of the little fashion design tiles I had as a kid where you would mix and match the tops, bottoms, shoes, etc and rub it with a crayon. I found that these work better with thinner paper. Using anything thick enough for wet-media will require you to push down pretty hard, and will leave texture on the paper afterwards. You can use them for drawing, rendering, mixed media- even for journaling if you need a light grid on your paper - just place under the part of the page you want to write on, and lightly rub some graphite over the page to get a light grid that you can then erase after you write with your pen (and the ink dries). Plastic templates for doing texture rubbings. Easy to use with graphite pencils. Gets the intended texture consistently every time. I recommend rubbing very lightly to get an even darkness across the whole pattern. Sturdy firm plastic, I expect these to never need to replace them. They have a hole you could use to hang them up or keep them together. I suppose my only complaint is the cost, but you expect this sort of premium for niche tools like this.
I've wished for easier ways to make grids for years. These are perfect, so much easier than rulers or stencils. I'll probably order some larger sizes, but these are great for many uses. Journaling would benefit a lot with them. The material is sturdy & I've used crayons, graphite, & charcoal sticks with them. I also tried using some graphite transfer paper, which worked perfectly with much less mess than charcoal or pastel dust.
These are a great addition to any artist's toolbox. They're good quality and a decent size. I've used them for a couple of projects, and I appreciate how there are two sizes of each pattern, so you can have some visual continuity within a project, but still have a little variety. My daughter has recently claimed them and taken them to her room to use in her art projects, so I guess it's safe to say that they are a hit here.
If I was to mention one of my weaknesses in drawing, it would be texturing. These tools take the pain out of texturing. It does take a little practice with them to really good results. Practice is also great for experimenting with different textures. I'll get a uncolored vector image, and print it a couple times and experiment with textures. I think this is a great addition to a artist's tool kit!

My teenage daughter loves to draw and watches tons of videos about drawing and art techniques. I bought these for her to try out, she was so excited saying she'd seen them on ticktoc. I was impressed how sturdy they are, definitely a high quality item that will last a while. She says they work perfectly with her charcoals and graphite pencils.
This is a great type of art supply for drawing, painting, watercolors. The product is sturdy and I'm already enjoying just testing it out with light sketches and watercolor. The panels add really nice comic book-style patterns/textures to traditional art, and they're easy to clean.

These sketchtiles make me want more. I ended up spending extra time playing with the textures and how easy it is to create a look and feel using them. I plan on using these both with drawing and as a texture tool for clay.
